Henderson State University is grieving the untimely passing of Jamarion “Jo” Brown, a junior men’s basketball student-athlete who tragically lost his life in a recent shooting incident. Brown, a native of Mount Pleasant, Texas, was more than an athlete; he was a beacon of perseverance, passion, and positivity whose influence resonated throughout the campus community.
A Rising Star on the Court
Jo joined the Reddies for the 2024–25 season and quickly became an integral part of the basketball program. His performance was marked by significant contributions, including a standout game where he scored 19 points and recorded seven steals, showcasing his defensive prowess and commitment to excellence.
His defensive skills were further recognized when he was named the Great American Conference (GAC) Defensive Player of the Week in February 2025.
